Lamp Technology

Electroluminescent (EL) lamps are basically luminescent capacitors. By applying alternating voltage to the electrodes, phosphor particles that are dispersed in dielectric get excited and emit light.

Rogers manufactures two classes of electroluminescent lamps - conventional lamps which are screen printed on a polyester substrate, and our new ultra-flexible DFLX™ lamps, which have no substrate. Both classes of lamps are produced at Rogers Durel Division in Chandler, AZ using high-volume state-of-the-art automated screen printing equipment in a class-10,000 clean room for consistently high quality.

Over sixteen years' experience in EL production has made Rogers the largest producer of high quality EL lighting systems in the world. Rogers' EL lamps are produced using only Rogers' own micro-encapsulated phosphor and custom conductive and insulating inks to provide high-brightness, long life, and unmatched environmental robustness with low variability of brightness, color and life.
